Exoracing Black Silicone Vacuum Hose 4/5/6mm

Price range: £6.99 through £69.99

Description

Choose The Right Silicone Vacuum Hose For Your Engine Bay

The Exoracing black silicone vacuum hose is designed to replace old, brittle or split rubber vacuum lines with a clean, flexible silicone hose for engine bay signal lines. It is ideal for boost reference lines, MAP sensor feeds, fuel pressure regulator references, blow-off or recirculation valve signals, wastegate signal lines and gauge lines.

  • Available inside diameters: 4mm, 5mm and 6mm
  • Available lengths: 1m, 3m and 10m
  • Material: high-temperature silicone (VMQ), unreinforced extrusion
  • Temperature range: -40°C to +240°C continuous guideline
  • Best for: vacuum and low-pressure signal lines, not fuel or oil contact

Important: match the hose inside diameter to the outside diameter of the barb or fitting. If the line runs close to a turbo, downpipe, manifold or other radiant heat source, protect it with a heat sleeve.

Why Use Exoracing Black Silicone Vacuum Hose?

Vacuum leaks are small faults that can create big problems: rough idle, hunting revs, odd ECU codes, unstable boost control, inconsistent gauge readings and poor engine response. Most of the time, the cause is an old rubber line that has gone hard, brittle, split or loosened from heat and age.

Exoracing black silicone vacuum hose restores a clean, airtight path for the signals your ECU, boost controller, wastegate, MAP sensor and gauges rely on. It stays flexible in the engine bay, resists ozone and UV better than standard rubber, and gives the bay a tidy black OEM-plus finish.

Use it anywhere you need a reliable vacuum or low-pressure signal line. Do not use standard silicone vacuum hose for petrol, diesel, oil or brake booster lines. If you need to route the hose near heat, use Exoracing silicone fibreglass heat sleeve, Exoracing Velcro heat sleeve or Exoracing heat reflective tape to protect the line from radiant heat.

Which Hose Size Should I Choose?

Match the hose inside diameter to the fitting or barb outside diameter. The hose should push on firmly and seal without being loose. If the barb is between sizes, choose the smaller inside diameter for a tighter fit and use a clamp where needed.

Hose ID Approx. OD Typical Use
4mm ~10mm Small vacuum, boost reference, MAP sensor or gauge signal lines where the barb matches.
5mm ~11mm Common middle size for many engine bay signal lines and replacement vacuum hose routes.
6mm ~12mm Larger vacuum or low-pressure signal lines where the fitting/barb needs a 6mm ID hose.

Which Length Should I Choose?

Length Best For
1m Small repairs, replacing one short line, or keeping a spare hose in the toolbox.
3m Most engine bay refresh jobs involve several vacuum or signal lines being replaced.
10m Workshop use, full bay rerouting, multiple cars, or keeping stock for future maintenance.

Exoracing Silicone Vacuum Hose Installation Guide:

  1. Plan the hose route before cutting, avoiding sharp edges, moving parts and high radiant heat where possible.
  2. Measure the old line or the route you need, then cut the silicone hose cleanly with a sharp blade or hose cutter.
  3. Push the hose fully onto the barb or fitting. If it is tight, warm the hose slightly to help it seat.
  4. Use suitable clamps, spring clips or cable ties on pressurised or vibration-prone joints.
  5. Start the engine and check for vacuum or boost leaks by monitoring readings or using a suitable leak-check method.
  6. Recheck the hose after the first drive to confirm it has not moved, kinked or softened near the heat.

Heat Protection Recommended Near Turbo Or Exhaust Areas

Silicone vacuum hose handles typical engine bay temperatures well, but local hotspots near turbochargers, downpipes, exhaust manifolds and wastegates can be much hotter than the surrounding bay. If the hose runs close to those areas, cover the nearest section with a heat sleeve and keep as much clearance as possible.

Choose a sleeve internal diameter just larger than the hose outside diameter. As a guide, the 4mm, 5mm and 6mm ID vacuum hoses are approximately 10mm, 11mm and 12mm OD.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size silicone vacuum hose do I need?

Match the hose inside diameter to the outside diameter of the barb or fitting. If the barb is between sizes, choose the smaller ID for a tighter fit and use a clamp where needed.

Can I use this for boost reference lines?

Yes, this hose is suitable for low-pressure boost reference and signal lines such as wastegate, boost gauge, MAP sensor and FPR references. It is not a replacement for reinforced charge, coolant or high-pressure hoses.

Is silicone vacuum hose fuel or oil safe?

No. Standard silicone vacuum hose is not suitable for petrol, diesel or oil contact. Use the correct fuel, oil, fluorosilicone-lined or PTFE hose for those jobs.

Will the hose be supplied as one continuous length?

Lengths ordered in multiple metres are supplied as one continuous run where possible.

Can I use this for brake booster lines?

No. Brake systems are safety-critical, so use only OE-spec reinforced brake booster hose.

Notes:

  • Not suitable for petrol, diesel or oil contact.
  • Not suitable for brake booster lines.
  • Avoid tight bends that could kink the hose.
  • Use a heat sleeve near the turbo, downpipe, manifold or wastegate heat.
  • Lengths ordered in multiple metres are supplied as a continuous run where possible.
